Liberty Diner is SUCH a charming place! it's a bit out of the way compared to many other dinners, restaurants and pubs in the Coliseum area- but it's well worth the extra 5-10 minutes of driving! The menu is tremendously expansive, but what I have had here is more than worth the money- and judging by the diner's longevity and local awards, the majority of the menu is just as good as what I have tried. The breakfasts are to die for- large portions, cooked/baked/sauteed to my exact preferences. They have delightfully unique 'crunchy' french toast, amazing quiches and the best french onion soup I've ever had (get it with the melted cheese on top- that is a must!) I make trips from Huntington just for that soup. The service has always been pleasant and the vibe is good- not overly loud. Very charming. They could potentially clean up a bit and make some updates/fix some things, but overall not really a serious issue.

Lunch at a delightful little diner after performing at the children's zoo in Fort Wayne. My server, whose name I do not recall, was delightful. Had the Mediterranean pork chops- fantastic! I highly recommend this location, as it is easy access off of I-69.

Complete dump with a nasty bathroom. Good food though. They were short on staff but the food came out quickly and was pretty good. I'd really say 3.5. Spanakopita was pretty good. Onion soup was good. Souvlaki was pretty good but a bit over cooked and tough but I really liked the salad. Nothing earth shattering about the food but it was fairly priced and not bad at all.

This place is super cute! The service is friendly and fast, and they have a huge menu selection. I ordered the London Broil and my bf got the Fish and Chips. The fries were by far the best part of the meal, but really everything was super tasty. We started with the calamari, which was very well done. The portions are decent and would have been just right had we not ordered the calamari. The only down side was that the fish was a bit small considering it was supposed to be the main thing on the plate

I'm from Long Island NY so Greek diners have set the gold standard for giant menus, portions and 24 hour indulgence. The spanakopita with tziki sauce here was the best I've ever had and our waitress was extremely lovely. Just driving through but I will definitely keep the Liberty earmarked for future trips back to the east coast from Culver, IN.

We found this charming place by chance and weren't disappointed. Clean with fast, friendly service, nice menu variety, and delicious food. The avgolemono soup is outstanding, and this is coming from someone of Greek heritage who is very picky about Mediterranean food served in restaurants. Highly recommended to anyone in the Fort Wayne area looking for a quick and affordable bite to eat.

We stumbled on this place by accident but actually ended up meeting some nice people and getting some good food. First of the place is not much to look at I think they moved into maybe an old Shoney's...really odd decor and probably not the cleanest place..bathroom was a little gross. But, the staff was great they were a few people short the day we were there but they did their best and got our food out fast. They do serve breakfast all day and seeing at that is my favorite meal I ordered and omelette and home fires. The omelette was massive and fluffy and just all around good...however the home fires were just ok I think they were just left over from the morning crowd were kind of dry and just tasted old. But, seeing as there is not a lot in this little town this place would be your stop. We ordered a few other dished and everything was great the menu is like 4 pages I was shocked that the food was actually good with so much to chose from.

Burger was dry, patty was obviously frozen pre-formed, complete lack of any seasoning. Fries were cooked well but also lacked any seasoning. Maybe their specials are better but the basics are missing the mark. Seating was nice and well kept. Tables were clean and chairs were neat and with no obvious signs of wear or distress. Inside looks much nicer than the outside. Staff was polite and courteous and very friendly. We were greeted and seated quickly and our waitress was polite and timely.

Good, hearty food. Good prices. I have been here three times. The first two visits, I ordered my "safe" option for diners: omelettes! Once they had won my trust, I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki. I enjoyed it! Tasty, good quality, good sides (roasted potato and salad). I should mention that it was a large portion, too! Note that the menu includes a fair share of processed and heavy foods (e.g., greasy grilled cheese sandwiches), but there are lots of options, the hours are good, and the wait staff is friendly and personable.

We ate an early dinner at the Liberty on a Saturday in late May and were very pleased. My ricotta ravioli and my husband's smoked salmon & potato pancakes were *outstanding*! Our server was terrific; very pleasant and attentive. The owners are a husband & wife (she's the hostess and he's one of the cooks). They were both very friendly. The Liberty has extensive hours and it's conveniently located right off I-69. Highly recommended!

A diner is a diner. Huge menu, too many options. Basic food to fuel you on a long road trip. The place is falling apart and in need of a major deep clean and scrub. Friendly people though

A comfortable and fun environment. Oldies playing in the background, friendly staff, and delicious large portions of food. I ordered the Pigs in a Blanket combo. Delicious.

Greek family owned restaurant with humongous amount of menu choices. Of the three meals we had, all were good quality with generous portions. One can tell the kitchen puts an effort in to get things right; i.e., like the soups (that come with most sandwiches/entrees) is fresh and hot. Fries (dusted with a flour concoction, BTW, that made them extra special good) were hot and crisp. The one salad entree we had (Chinese Chicken Salad) had all fresh ingredients. For sure, the Roma tomatoes and mushrooms in the salad were "just cut" fresh. Service: Excellent. The restaurant can use some improvements: Several upholstered booths appear to need repair/re-upholstery. It also looks like that management doesn't make sure that the carpets are being swept up of crumbs/spilled food during the day.

Let me start out by saying "portion control", they've never heard of this, and it's a good thing. Their food is delicious, and they give you a lot of it! I absolutely love these kinds of good old fashioned places. Their menu is all-american home cooking, and they deliver on the home-style taste. The restaurant itself is that sort of charmingly dated. It's one of those places that you know right when you walk in, that it's been around a long time, and for good reason. They're very friendly here too, and eager to answer any questions you have. It's the kind of place that makes you feel cozy and welcome. I particularly enjoy when they have the classic car groups stop by, and you can walk around the parking lot and take a gander at all the fancy old cars.

Affordable casual diner straight out of the past. Food is decent service good coffee a bit watered down. Ambience fun with all kinds of knick knacks on the walls to read. Worth a late night stop!
(4)Andrew W.
Standard diner. But happy to have found it mid snow bound drive. Gotta love breakfast served all day!
(3)Wendy D.
Basic diner except for the fact that they screwed up a grilled cheese and the New England Clam Chowder was some on the worst I ever had. The other people in my party were super happy with their food as they ordered breakfast. They seem to do omelets and eggs right!
(2)Daniel C.
Great one of kind place where you can see the Statue of Liberty! Was here for breakfast, Food came out in a flash! Loved the potatoes that came with my eggs. Service was very good and their prices are low!
(4)Dave B.
The French Onion soup is VERY good. Also the bagels and lox are garnished well and in ample portions. Service was quick and attentive. The menu is extensive to say the least. Open 24hrs on weekends. I can't say I have anything to complain about, however nothing really made me jump out of my seat either.

Poor service, worse food. 1 star... I have always been a little leery of restaurants with overly confident (aka lengthy) menus. It is rare that: (1) they have all of the fresh ingredients to make every option; and (2) that the chef knows how to make every dish. Liberty Diner did nothing to lightened my distrust of lengthy menus. I should have read the Yelp reviews before I got there, or had the wisdom to ask the waitress to order for me. At the very least she would have known what the chef made often. Instead, I went for something I thought was a sure thing - biscuits and gravy, two over-easy eggs, and bacon. Even mediocre B&G is a good thing... After waiting 20 minutes for my food to arrive without any glimpse of the waitress in the interim, I was brought what looked remarkably like a plate of food. Ravenous, I shoved a giant bite of steaming B&G in my mouth to discover that they must make their version of the American classic with rancid buttermilk. Yay! I did eat the eggs, despite being hard fried, and the bacon. The bacon was decent. Last but not least... When checking out I ordered a slice of Boston cream pie to go. I looked at it and pointed it out to the young lady at the cash register. When I opened it up back at the motel... coconut cream pie! It was good, but was also the last straw resulting in this review. I hope you have better luck than did I.

Always have a great time. It was great to see George again. Food was fabulous as always.
(5)Nicole I.
We have our monthly office meetings here for breakfast. It's truely a diner, so take that into consideration when you see the decor. But you get a lot of food for your money, and it's not bad at all. I enjoy eating here in once a month.
(3)Virgil A.
Great food, the palate has been waiting so long for. You get full but still have to finish savor ing your plate. There is so much to choose from the menu. They even have lamb.
(5)Kent M.
Stopped by for breakfast. Ordered corned beef hash with eggs and toast, with iced tea. Came to $11.80. Whew! Good food, great wait staff.
(4)Higgins D.
Classic American-style diner, with added kitsch because it's on the Lincoln Highway. This place is relatively recent, not having been around since the 40's or anything, but it tries to match that whole ambiance and succeeds. The owners know what they're trying to be. The food is also solid diner fare. I had the lemon chicken soup and a patty melt, and my partner had a fried mushroom chicken dish. The soup surprised me with how fresh it tasted, it still had the bright sour tang of lemon with a little bit of the pulp even. The patty melt was spot-on to my expectations, and the fries were nicely seasoned. The fried chicken was beer-battered, so it was light and not heavy and greasy like one might expect from, well, a greasy spoon. The staff was attentive and it had a lot of local charm, including several bikers who dropped in, which probably is a regular occurrence during the summer months. They do have a rather large menu, but if you stay with the basic American-style (and Greek) fare, it's hard to go wrong since it's just basics prepared in different ways. I wish I had room for dessert because their pies looked great, but alas, not this time.

This is a kitschy place with an expansive menu! There is all kinds of American paraphernalia on the walls and in the windows, everything from a large Statue of Liberty to American flags, muscle car show trophies and photos of classic celebrities like Frank Sinatra. Though it has its charms of being a bit of a dive, there's an undoubtedly dingy look to the place. Every booth seat was lumpy and had significant wear and tear, the larger tears were "mended" with neon green duct tape. The floor had some old stains, but didn't appear overall dirty. Every time I've come there, they seem to be thriving, perhaps they may consider redoing their booth upholstery soon. However being a 24 hour business probably doesn't make it easy to make these changes. The food was, overall, good. We went for breakfast (as is our want for Sunday mornings). I ordered the usual scrambled eggs and bacon and it came with hash (a bit soggy in the middle) and pancakes. The pancakes and eggs were a bit dry. The pancakes were nice and thick, however! The portions are generous and I was surprised to be given the option of pancakes or toast. Stephen ordered a Mediterranean scramble and that was very tasty with some hot sauce. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive as was the owner who rang us up. The total meal for two people cost just under $20. This is a place to which I'll return but it probably will be more out of convenience than a first choice. I do want to taste their lunch menu as I have heard some good things regarding their Greek food!

Was in Fort Wayne for two weeks and I are here 4 times and each time the food was awesome along with the prices and customer service! The owner is an awesome guy and was there working hard to make sure that each customer received the same quality service. I highly recommend this place if your in town!
(5)Christopher G.
Good food and plenty of it! Don't order if your not that hungry. Plate was bigger than my chest!

Liberty Diner is one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Wayne. I have dined here for many years and I like everything I have ever tried here. They have an amazing array of menu items and many of which are hard to find at other eating establishments. The prices are fair considering that the portions are huge and the quality of the food is great. One of my favorite items on the menu is the old fashioned mushroom meat loaf. How often can you find delicious homemade meat loaf at any other restaurant in Fort Wayne? Other delicious menu items include Norwegian salmon, baby back ribs, bourbon street chicken and grilled calf's liver. We always find the service here excellent, no matter which waitress we have. The manager is always quick and attentive. If you want a restaurant that has something for everyone, with delicious food and huge portions, the Liberty Diner is your place!

The food was great and the staff was excellent. The marinara sauce wasn't too strong for the chicken Parmesan and the rolls were really good. The decor is a little outdated but it adds to the friendliness of the place. The owners were present to seat and help us; they were very friendly. We randomly selected to eat here and we will be returning.

Excellent NY style diner. Great food (large portions) at reasonable prices. Huge selection on their menu. Dinners come with a choice of soup or salad. I've had the lemon rice chicken soup, and it is very good. Have a look at their blue-plate daily specials. Last week, I wanted to try the Hungarian Goulash, but they RAN OUT!! The waitress said it's very popular. I had the veal parmigiana instead...it was served on a bed of linguine and spaghetti sauce, covered with melted mozzarella. It was very good. For lunch, I've had the bagel with lox (it also had capers on it...those little pickled things). Very good! One more thing...they have free WiFi!!! Use their password: libdiner to get access. By the way, they are open Friday and Saturdays 24 hours. The rest of the week, they're open early (6am?) to late (11pm?)

We came for a late breakfast and ordered eggs benny with fruit and the veggie omelette with feta, hash browns, and pancakes. Everything was perfect. Plenty of food! The place is clean and festive and the service was very friendly. Definitely will be back!

I'm kinda surprised no one has written a review yet...but notttt really. The location is good, right off the freeway and by a ton of motels and a stripclub. I would definitely not recommend making a pit stop here unless your a truck driver. The food was mediocre. I got the crunchy french toast, which was very plain and tasted like I was eating plain fresh toast with few cereal pieces. I knew I should've gone with my gut instincts and just get what I ALWAYS get, eggs, potatoes, and toast..well...lesson learned. My parents got a breakfast scramble quesadilla that was surprisingly tasty with the side of salsa it comes with. To me, eggs and quesadilla sounds like an oxy-moron...and shouldn't be put together, but it was good. It also came with a variety of fruits that was ok.

When I fly back home, this is the first place that my family and I go to for a reunion lunch. The menu is huge - so massive that it gives you anything that you are in the mood for (except Mexican). The French onion soup is one of the best deals around, with not too much cheese and very crusty bread. The blue plate specials are also a really good deal, with lots of room for choices. The dinning room is very spacious, allowing even a large group to find room on a whim. During the warm months, there is outdoor seating for smokers. The only bad thing about Liberty Diner are the locations around it. For many years, this exit has been strip club heaven for Fort Wayne. If seeing that sort of thing bothers you, then you might want to stay away. You can't really see any of them while you are inside though.

We love Liberty Diner. It has such generous portions and, we think, the best fries ever! Their lemon chicken rice soup is high on my cravings list and the club sandwich is excellent. The wait staff is almost always excellent. Don't let the "trucker" part of town keep you away from visiting this gem!

Liberty Diner is endorsed and frequented by the extremely tired and oft inebriated members of Rosemary Gates and KillNancy. Great Fort Wayne diner. Awesome breakfast menu. And tolerant staff! ;)

I love diners, and this place is fantastic. I was in Ft. Wayne for work and decided to stop in for lunch after looking up places on Yelp. I ordered the lemon rice chicken soup and ricotta ravioli. Before any of my other food came out, my waitress brought out a basket of warm fresh bread, which was a nice start to the meal. The soup was interesting - never had lemon soup and it was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be a thin watery soup, but it was thick and creamy. The lemon flavor was not overpowering. It wasn't my favorite, but I think many other people will like it. The ravioli was awesome. My server (who was extremely friendly, charming and nice - one of the best I have ever had), recommended getting it with mushrooms and red peppers, which I thought added a nice touch to the dish. It came with about nine large ravioli on top of a cream sauce and topped with a thick gooey layer of melted mozzarella (?) cheese. It was very rich and filling. I wanted to try a dessert which are displayed near the front of the diner, but I was stuffed. The menu is huge, the portions are very generous, prices are very fair, and the service was spectacular. My waitress made sure my soda was constantly full (I think I had four refills), and she kept making sure I didn't need anything (without being overbearing). The only minor drawback is that they don't accept American Express, which is my work credit card, but they do accept Discover, Visa, and maybe Mastercard. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely stop by for another meal.

A very good diner with an extensive menu. This was my first time here. It made for a perfect stop off the interstate. I was fairly impressed by their lox omelette with onions and broccoli. I opted for the low carbohydrate option, which saved $1 for holding the side of carbs. There were plenty of eggs and vegetables for a healthy breakfast. Good service staff and wifi. Bathrooms just ok.
(4)Lea-Ann M.
My faves are lemon soup and greek salad. Big portions!
(5)Jackie H.
I'm a sucker for diners. When scouting out Ft Wayne for my boyfriend's upcoming move, we definitely had to check out a greasy spoon. Liberty did not disappoint. The decor was some of the campiest I've ever seen, with lots of American flags and Statue of Liberty iconography. Even better, though, was the food. The chicken lemon rice soup was great, the gyro somewhat different than the Coney-style you find in Michigan, but still good. The fries were hands down the best I've ever had at a diner, very crispy. Service was a little slow for how empty the place was, otherwise I would give it a 5. Great diner, I can't wait til I can return!
